Daniel Lloyd Jr. – President/CEO

Mr. Lloyd was born into the oil and gas business, working with his father, the founder of Superior Oil and Gas Co., in exploration and development of wells in the Oklahoma-Texas area and land investments in the oil business throughout the world. He has been involved in this industry all his life and been an executive with Superior his whole career, over 25 years, taking the reins as CEO in 2008.  Mr. Lloyd studied Geology and Business at Arizona State University.

Douglas Newman – CFO

Mr. Newman has extensive experience in accounting outside and within the oil and gas industry including: fifteen years partner in CPA firm; ten years in management of independently traded oil and gas companies and over twenty years SEC experience as CFO of public companies.

John Helton, Chief Geologist -

Mr. Helton’s long and successful career as a geologist spans over thirty years. As  past President of the Tulsa Geological Society, and current active member of the American Association of Petroleum engineers, Mr. Helton skills are known throughout the Oil and Gas industry.  Mr. Helton obtained the University of Oklahoma where he received a BS in Geology. Gary Pittenger, Senior Geologist

Steve Merrill, Director of Land and Legal

Mr. Merrill is a landman attorney with more than 32 years of experience in oil and gas exploration and production. He aas a member of the management team at Andover Oil Company that drilled the first horizontal well in Oklahoma in 1985. The well was drilled in the Viola limestone formation in Jefferson County, Oklahoma. While this well was not successful for technical reasons, it led to the application of the horizontal concept to Mississippian limestones, pending advances in technology. With the success of horizontal shale wells, it became apparent that the technology had advanced sufficiently to re-consider it’s application to traditional oil reservoir rocks. In 2006 Mr. Merrill teamed with John Helton to study the Mississippian shelf area for horizontal drilling opportunities. Mr. Merrill has continued to study and champion the possibilities of the horizontal Miss Resource play to current date.

Gayla McCoy – Secretary/ Treasurer

Ms. McCoy has held several corporate positions since 1995,  including president of McCoy Energy Co. of Yukon, Oklahoma, an oil and gas exploration company; and corporate secretary and treasure of a two food services companies.   Ms. McCoy has worked at Superior Oil and Gas since 1998.

Ted Allen – Chief Petroleum Engineer

Mr. Allen has 30 years of diversified experience in the oil and gas industry.  His duties have included drilling, completions, work- over’s, log interpretation, property evaluation, reservoir analysis, acquisitions, quality assurance, cost effectiveness and on site supervision

Directors

Thomas J. Kenan, Esq. (Designee)

Mr. Kenan is a former U.S. Naval Officer, a Fulbright scholar, a two-time Ford Foundation scholar, a former legislative assistant to U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader Carl Albert (1962-66) and a practitioner of securities law and corporation law for 45 years in Oklahoma City before he retired at the end of 2010.  He received a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from the University of Oklahoma, a bachelor of law degree from the University of Oklahoma’s College of Law, a master of law degree in comparative law from N.Y.U., and he studied comparative constitutional law at the University of Paris during the 1959-60 school year.  He practiced securities, bankruptcy and corporation law for 45 years in Oklahoma City until he retired January 1, 2011.

Jim George, Esq. (Disignee)

James W. George serves as Of Counsel in the Law Offices of Crowe Dunlevy, in Oklahoma City. His legal areas of practice include the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and oil and gas and energy laws. With more than 50 years of legal experience , Mr. George has successfully argued oil and gas cases before the Oklahoma Supreme Court as well as the various federal and state district courts.

Mr. George has been honored with many awards throughout his legal career, including being the 2003 recipient of the Eugene Kuntz Award for outstanding contribution to oil and gas law and policy from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and the Oklahoma Bar Association. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America for natural resources law.

Some of Mr. George’s professional memberships include serving as the chairman of the Administrative Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and president of the Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society. He has also served as master of the Luther Bohanon American Inn of Court, and has sat on the advisory board for the Energy Law Institute of the Center of American and International Law. Mr. George currently lectures on administrative law for OU.

Will Lott – Independent Director

From 1992 to the present, Mr. Lott has been and still is the president of Lott Properties, a real estate company, and the vice president of Coats & Co., Inc., a mortgage company, both of Greenwood, Mississippi.

Dan Lloyd, Sr. (Deceased) – Founder

Daniel H. Lloyd, Sr. was an oil and gas “pioneer” who formerly owned controlling interest in Cactus Drilling Co; Cactus Pipe and Supply; Oklahoma Pipe and Supply; Panther and Philco Drilling Companies, working from Alaska to Gulf of Mexico, Oklahoma to the China Sea.  Mr. Lloyd had operations in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Montana.  He served as President for many companies handling drilling, completion and production in numerous states and foreign countries.

Bill Sparks (Deceased) – Director

Mr. Sparks has a Masters Degree in Geology from the University of Oklahoma. From 1971 to 1979 he was a partner with Jerry Jones in Ricks Exploration and together they drilled over 400 wells with production as much as 4 BCF of gas per well. Mr. Sparks then ran several oil and gas related businesses until retirement in 1994. He came out of retirement in 1999 to serve as a consultant to Jerry Jones in Blue Star Oil & Gas, reviewing geology on new wells for drilling and workovers on their established wells. He has served on the Board and as a consultant to Superior Oil and Gas, Inc. since 1997.
